Pro-Diet Dog Food was founded in 1981 near Glyndon, Minnesota, by Stanley R. Crume, a lifetime breeder of livestock, who understands the vital role nutrition plays in animal health. His experience has been invaluable in the development of ProDiet, "the dog food of the future." After raising and showing cattle, hogs and sheep for over 20 years, Stan founded Crume Kennels in 1960. By 1970 Crume Kennels was known throughout the United States, Canada and South America for high-quality dogs.

Stan's dissatisfaction with the various dog foods he had used, however, prompted him to develop a greatly improved dog food for professional use. He consulted with university professors regarding the latest nutritional requirements and worked with a leading nutritionist who had formulated the ration for the world-famous racehorse Secretariat. The overriding goal was to formulate a highly nutritious dog food with a maximum of natural ingredients and an absolute minimum of non-nutritive fillers and additives.

After years of experimenting, a unique formula made with natural ingredients was labeled ProDiet. Fortified with vitamins and minerals, ProDiet provides your dog with a complete and balanced diet for a longer, healthier life.
